Great, classic, well-made, but the braces were just a bit too short.
Got the basket as well as the matching rear rack and am very happy with it in general. Wish they were so liberal with their branding (literally) on the wood. Once small mark would have made it a bit more classy. My big issue at this point is that the two metal braces that go from the under side of the basket down to the tips of the forks for attachment are too short. If I attach them as-is, the basket will tip drastically forward. I'm puzzled because I'm not extraordinarily tall (5'8") and my bike is a stock medium frame (by Globe) so it's strange that it doesn't fit. I'm sure with a little extra work it'll be fine, but at this price, I'd hope that they'd either send a spare set of braces that are 3-4 inches longer or give you an easy way to purchase them or swap them out, if needed. Otherwise, a perfect classic touch for a ladies' bike. Very pretty, yet functional.

Missing pieces, horrible support
Item was delivered with only one support bar. I reached out to the listed product support (the manufacturer Wald) and was informed it’s not their problem and I have to pay $13.05 for the missing piece. Apparently there is a middle man “Maxim” who is at fault, yet Amazon shows no record of it. Deducted 3 stars for the missing piece and horrible customer support. Obviously sending back the basket as it is useless without the missing second support bar. For that price I would have expected a different experience. Also, the five print on the instructions stated that it can not be used on bikes with front suspension.

Extremely Functional Bike Basket
I purchased this Wald basket for an old 70s Raleigh Lady Sports. The bicycle had no rear rack and nothing to carry anything in or on, so I felt it was a necessity in order to make it a functional city style bicycle. This basket is huge... and I think that's a great thing. It's not so big that it looks bizarre on the bike, but it holds quite a bit. I threw my larger sized purse in it and it was swimming around in quite a bit of space. I also took it to the grocery store and it was able to fit two very large reusable bags in it without issue (see photos). The two bags totaled about 25 lbs, so I think it's a sturdy basket as well. I was probably pushing the limits of weight it (and the bike) could handle on the front, but it did just fine on the 3 mile ride home from the store. Certainly, an excellent basket that is not only functional, but looks great as well!

Nice aesthetics. Holds up my 24 lb dog (she has to stay lying down to keep the center of gravity low to keep the bike balanced. If you can teach your dog to lie down you’re good). Installation took a few minutes. I just wish they had extra screws for quick release wheels so I can screw it in the designated holes on the fork of my bike.

good fit, not too heavy but you will likely still need to turn handlebars away when using a kick stand for the bike to not fall over. if they can get these guys down 30% in weight it would be a perfect basket. as per usual Wald build quality is top notch.

Not Happy!
This is a great bike basket and I purchased it for a Christmas gift. I just found out when trying to put it on the recipient's bike that it won't work if the bike has a quick release front tire. I just discovered this morning that I cannot return the item because I have exceeded the return policy date!!!! Now what am I to do with this expensive not usable bike basket! There is no contact link on the Amazon Prime web page related to my purchase. Help if you can....

The basket is very secure and is large enough to hold my backpack. It does take some getting used to, however, as it is a bit heavy on the front end.
